General Setting

Joint Oil Block

The block is located on the Tunisian – Libyan offshore acreage on both sides of the delimitation line of the continental shelf. It is part of the Pelagian Basin of central Mediterranean sea southern margin.

Joint Oil Block covers an area of 3055 sqKm where the water depth ranges between 90 and 120 meters. It is 150 km northwest of Tripoli (Libya) and 120 km to the southeast of Sfax (Tunisia).

Data Base

  • The « Joint Oil Block » is covered by approximately 10,612 kilometers of 2D seismic data ranging from fair to good quality, evenly distributed, and by four 3D cubes spanning an area of 1,472 square kilometers. The seismic data were acquired between 1984 and 2013.
  • In the « Joint Oil Block, » five wells were drilled, four for exploration and one appraisal (ZRTN-1). Well logs data are available.
